It's a GIRL!!

So today was our big ultrasound! I was looking forward to this day for awhile ( everyone knows how bad I am with surprises), I was thinking we would find out we were having a girl, but I kinda went back and forth for a bit. Anyways the tech asked if we wanted to know and she said "it's a girl" I looked over at Brent and he had the biggest smile on his face and then tears just rolled down my cheek...I was so excited to have another daughter and little sister for Hattie. I kept picturing two little sisters growing up together making lots of fun memories, just like I did as a kid! Girls are taking over my side of the family. Sara and I will have four girls under 3! Good thing older cousin Braedon is so good with his little girl cousins, he was kind of hoping for a boy but he even thought it would be a girl!
Some people asked if Brent would be okay with girls! Haha...that is just funny to me because 1- he doesn't really have much of a choice and 2- do you see him with Hattie??...that girl is such a daddy's girl, I am sure the newest baby girl will be the same! Neither of us even cared what we were having we just were hoping for a healthy baby and it looks like we have a healthy little girl growing inside me! We are so lucky!
Here are a few pictures from last weekend! Hope you are having a great Monday- we sure are!!

my friend, Ruth Ann watched Hattie while we were at the dr. and we came home to this little outfit ( she bought a boy one too)

what a goof ball

3 cousins...can you imagine one more little girl in this picture??!!

can you believe Layla is only 5 weeks here?

Hattie and Daddy Time!

Brent celebrated his second Father's Day last weekend! Hattie and I made him pankcakes for breakfast and we had Braum's sundaes in the afternoon and went for a walk to the park in the evening. I asked Brent if there was anything better than being a dad and he said nope, just being a dad of two!! : )
We have been trying to stay cool this summer by visiting our neighborhood pool in the evenings. We have gone quite a bit and everytime we have gone these two ten year old girls are there and they get so excited to see Hattie. They take turns pushing her in her tube ( of course I stay close: ) One girl let Hattie hold her goggles and then tried to get them back and Hattie held them and said "mine"! It was funny! I am sure she learned that from her cousin: )
Tomorrow is my birthday and I said the only thing I want is a Dairy Queen icecream cake. Sara is also taking me to MAC to get our makeup done and Kim is taking me out for lunch and a pedi! Then Brent, Hattie and I will go out to dinner before people come over for icecream cake! Gotta love birthdays!!
Monday is our big ultrasound...I will post a blog for sure!! Hopefully the baby cooperates so we can get a peek of what we are having! We are so excited!

So Happy It's Summertime!!

Our first few days of summer vacation were a little rough, all being sick. Thank goodness we are feeling alot better. Thursday Justin, Kristin, and Cooper came by and brought Olive Garden take-out. After dinner we went for a walk around our neighborhood. We took the two little ones in the wagon. Hattie kept getting mad when Cooper would put his feet on hers....finally she just put both her feet up over the side. That was the first time we got out of our house all week and it felt great!
Friday I went and got a pedicure with my friend Ruth Ann and then Hattie and I spent the afternoon at Sara's. I hadn't seen Layla for 5 days so I needed to get over there and hold her. When we pulled up to Sara's house Hattie got so excited. She was shaking and laughing. It was so funny to see how excited she got when she recognized her house. That night I made Sara get out for a little bit to meet up with some friends for happy hour. Our waitor was really sweet and kept bringing me water with different fruit in a martini glass: )
Today we went over to Kim's to see her new pool. Hattie LOVED swimming! She didn't want to get out. We swam for atleast two hours then had dinner and smores! It was so much fun! Kim said we need to do that every weekend! We would love that and I think Hattie would too!!

Summer is Here!!

It is such a great feeling knowing that we have the next 10 weeks off of school to be home together as a family! Our summer break has not started the best. Sickness has taken over our family....ugh!! Brent has an upper respitory infection, I have conjuctivitis and a sinus infection, and Hattie has a double ear infection. We are all on antibiotics now and hopefully we will start feeling better soon. I haven't been this sick in years and Brent has never gone to the dr. since I have known him! So not the best way to start the summer but atleast we aren't this sick at school!!
Hattie has been getting up between 6 and 7 every morning since school as got out. That is so funny since we had to wake her up everyday during the school year. Hopefully we will get her trained soon. She will be going to daycare one day a week for a few hours. We figured it would be good for her to see her friends and Alicia so it isn't so hard to return in the fall. Every other day she will be home with us and we love it!! She is so much fun! We are planning our big road trip from June 30- July 15th! We will be making stops in Kansas, Colorado, South Dakota, and Nebraska! We are planning to stay with Kelly, Courtney and Cael in Kansas, then we are going to Colorado for Brent's grandpa's 80th birthday, up to Spearfish to stay with Brent's parents and hopefully see Sheila and Mike, then to Pierre to see my family and friends - Jodi is planning on coming back while we are there, and finally we are going to Omaha, Nebraska to meet my friend Misty and her family!! I am so excited that I will get to see my four best friends along with all our family on our road trip. We will see how Brent does driving with a one year old and a pregnant lady....should be interesting! : )
Speaking of pregnancy....we get our ultrasound on the 28th of this month! Hopefully we will find out if we are having a boy or girl!
Here are some pictures of the weekend before we started getting really sick. We had friends, Steve and Adele, from Colorado visit us while they were in Sachse visiting Steve's brother. On Saturday Ruth Ann and I went to the musical, Wicked! It was awesome!! I knew I would like it since I am a fan of The Wizard of Oz! Then on Sunday we had a shower for baby Layla!

she loved playing with Adele's braceletes
