Just Having Fun!!

Well, I think we are in the middle of a record setting summer for Texas! We have had so many 100 plus days and it is incredibly dry. But we have still been having a good time staying inside or hanging by the pool!

Here's what the girls have been up to:

Hattie has been potty trained for a little while now!! YAY! Only one child in diapers is AWESOME!! We took her to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. She really acts brave when Chuck E is far away and as soon as he gets close she runs and hides: ) But then she will say to Hollyn " it's okay baby, Chuck E is a nice guy-don't be scared" She continues to to make Brent and I laugh on a daily basis( unless it is time for bed and she takes an hour using every possible excuse: )

Hollyn is 8 months and crawling all over the place. Her new thing is pulling her self up onto everthing. She is so quick, it is hard to keep up with her sometimes. And she gets really mad when she falls....in that way she is not like her big, daredevil sister- who in one day used her boo boo kitty 3 times for injuries and wasn't fazed at all!

If I am taking a picture of Holly, Hattie will say " take picture of me, please!"

Trying to Stay Cool!!

So we are now at 20 days in 100 plus weather! It's pretty hot down here. When we do get outside it must involve the pool ( which we go to almost every evening) ! We are thinking that we might try to get to South Dakota each summer and spend a couple of weeks up there, even though right now they are in a heat wave too! This summer we didn't really think it would be ideal to do such a long road trip with a baby and toddler, but I definetly think it will be "do able" next summer!
Even with these extremely hot days, we still love the Texas weather we get for about 9 to 10 months. Our summer has been so great...I can't believe that in about 3 or 4 weeks we will be back in school! Yikes! How does it always go so fast?!

Today is our 5th Anniversary! Those 5 years went by so fast! We were pretty busy though: living in a different country, dogs, moving to a new state, first house, baby, baby #2. It's been a great 5 years! When we were watching our wedding video we asked Hattie where she was and she said " I stayed home". She loves watching our wedding she will find the dvd and say" I watch mommy marry daddy movie" So cute!

Hattie loves giving sister piggy back rides..........

baby sister loves it too!!

Hattie thought Hollyn needed to wear a fire fighter hat while eating : )

riding in laundry baskets is so much fun!

this rarely happens

finger painting is so much fun...especially this mess free finger paint: )

Hatte and Marina doing eacother's makeup. These two are becoming the best of friends. They are hilarious too! Sara and I think it is crazy now with these two, but in a few months Layla and Hollyn will be added to the group of girls running around playing!

Fourth of July with Family!

We love when my brother and his family get a chance to come down to Texas for a visit. We are hoping that sometime soon they will decide to move down here!!
We had a great 4th of July enjoying time outside in Kim's pool! The rest of the week we went to a Rangers baseball game, went to Hurricane Harbor, did alot of shopping and hung out together!!We always have lots of fun! I love my family!! Everyone leaves tomorrow. My parents are going back to SD, but then will be here most of the fall and winter!!

Okay...so we are kinda a strange family. Eric had heard that there was this bet that people couldn't eat a plain piece of white bread and under a minute. Well, us siblings are all quite competitive ( even Kim did the challenge later on) so we decided to try it and NONE of us could do it. I know it sounds weird, but how many of you will go and try it now?: ) It was so much harder than we thought it would be: )

I told Hattie to go upstairs and get her shoes and she came down stairs and said " I found my shoes, Mama!" she thought those little plastic heels would be perfect for a trip to the store!

The only pictures we got at Hurricane Harbor! We all had a blast though: ) Hattie even got to go down lots of slides because she is so tall for her age ( 3 feet exactly)! There was this one ride that she had to sit behind me in a double tube. Right when it started I thought how scared she would be since we went through a dark tube and a fast speed. We got to the bottom and she said " lets go again!"
