Merry Christmas!!

We had a wonderful Christmas here at the Dill household....last year was Hattie's first Christmas and this year was Hollyn's first Christmas ( no, there won't be a dill baby first Christmas next year: ) - we are stopping that tradition!) It was great getting to be with family. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day out at my parents with my sisters and their families. Then my brother and four out of his five kids drove down from South Dakota the day after Christmas. Greg's wife Lisa couldn't make the trip because of work. It has been so much fun having all my nieces and nephews around. I still can't believe the four oldest kids our juniors and seniors in High School!

This was the first year that Brent and I haven't been with his family on Christmas or New Year's since I have been with him over the seven years. They sent two big boxes for us to open on Christmas! Hopefully next Christmas we will get to be together.

Hattie was at such a fun age this Christmas. She loved playing with all her new toys. She really didn't care about opening the presents, she just wanted to play with the toys. She is talking so much now. It is crazy that she can communicate with us what she whats...and what she doesn't want! The other night I was rocking Hollyn and Hattie came in and said "I love you Mama" and " I love you, baby" and then she saw the owl on the night stand and said " I love you, owl!" She is hilarious. Tonight we had my family over for quesadillas and Hattie had her 3rd big accident in her 20 month life...this time she tripped and hit her rocking chair. She has a really big, bruised black eye. It is awful, but like always, it could be alot worse. Why do I have a feeling we are going to have lots of accidents with this wild child!!

Hollyn got lots of Christmas presents, although she had no idea what was going on. Hattie kept holding up her presents and saying "look baby". It is crazy to think that next year she will be running around opening presents and playing with her sisters and cousins. Hollyn started sleeping in her own room this week. She gets up once or twice a night, so we are starting to get more sleep! She is still the sweetest baby ever. We rarely hear her cry. I am definetly loving being more relaxed with baby number two! It is great!

We have been enjoying our vacation. We have been sleeping in ( til 7! ) and then waking up and watching cartoons in our bed with the girls and relaxing during the day. I am really dreading Monday because I will have to take Hollyn to daycare and my parents are going back to South Dakota! But we still have a few days off...so I better enjoy them!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Happy New Year!

Yay for Christmas Break!

I know I was only back at work for one week, but boy was it a crazy week!! Friday night I was so tired I fell asleep at 7:00! I woke up in a panic at 2:00am when Hollyn woke up because I couldn't believe I was asleep that long and thought I missed feeding her. Brent told me that she was asleep from 7 to 2 too! Wow! Then Hattie slept in til 8 the next morning ( which she never does). Brent said that Hattie and Hollyn knew we were on vacation!! haha...too bad that only lasted one night/morning! Guess they didn't get the memo that we have a two week vacation!!
Friday after school my friend Ruth Ann came over to test out her new camera. We took the girls to see Santa at the mall. I am not sure why I thought Hattie would sit on Santa's lap, because she sure didn't. ANd I wasn't about to pay 20 bucks for a picture of her crying with her arms reaching for us while little sister slept in Santa's arms. Once we got back to the house, Ruth Ann took a few more pictures that turned out really cute!
Saturday all of us spent pretty much the entire day out at my parent's house! We LOVE being out there! It is so relaxing. We listened to all our favorite Christmas songs from when we were kids. And Sara and I even remembered part of our dance we made up to Feliz Navidad when were 10 and 11! Yah...we were cool kids! : )
Sunday we took Hollyn to her first church service, and she did great! Hattie was also excited to get back to the nursery. She kept saying "church" "friends". We also got to try sitting on Santa's lap again since our church had a Santa for the kids. This time I held Hattie while getting the picture and she still wasn't happy. She kept saying " bye Santa". Oh well...those pictures were free!!
This week we are relaxing and enjoying the 70 degree weather!! I can't believe Christmas will be here in a few days! YAY!!

love this picture!!

Back to School....Only for a Week!

I decided to go back to school this week since it is a short week and wouldn't require much planning since we are doing all the holiday fun stuff, plus going without a paycheck around the holidays wouldn't be much fun. Hollyn is spending the week with Grandma Jean. Everyday when I get home I hear all about their day. I am not sure what they are doing, but Hollyn has been sleeping so good at night. Waking up only 1 time is AMAZING!!
We are so excited to have the next two full weeks to spend together and relax and spend time with family!

Tacky sweater day at school...I think I won thanks to the awesome collar on my shirt!

her new thing is saying " watch baby" when she jumps off things or does any other tricks...it is so cute

Brent came home on Saturday and said he had a surprise...we were making cake balls! It was lots of fun but we will need to practice making them a couple more times for them to be any good!!

Christmas is Coming!!

Or as Hattie would say " Kissmus"! Everyday she says " kissmus tree" and "lights". We have been driving around when its dark to look at the christmas lights and the whole time she says
" utts that, Mama?" and then repeats " noman "( snowman), "deer", and "santa". This age is going to be so much fun this Christmas. Plus my brother and nieces and nephews will be here so we are really getting excited to spend Christmas with lots of family.
Brent and I are adjusting pretty well to being a family of four. Sometimes we just look at eachother and can't believe we have two daughters. It definetly takes both of us!! And we don't have much down time. But it is great and it seems that Hollyn has been here forever.
Hattie has been spending the days at Alicia's while I am home with Hollyn. I will be standing by the door waiting for her to come home and she runs past me saying "baby, baby". Everyday that is the first thing she does when she wakes up and when she gets home. She loves that baby!!

us three spend alot of time in this chair : )

Hollyn was 3 weeks on Friday!

we didn't think Hollyn looked much like Hattie until we looked at Hattie's baby pictures the other day....and they really do look alot alike. One big difference...the hair!! I don't think we are going to have another red head.

Thanksgiving!!

This year we got to celebrate Thanksgiving with both my family and Brent's family. Hattie loved having Nana, Papa, Tracy, and Jaron stay with us. On Sunday she was so sad to come downstairs and see that everyone was gone. She would say "Papa? " "Jaron?" and we would have to tell her they had to go bye bye. Of course, their trip down here went way too fast. And it is so hard to have them leave knowing we won't see them until April.
We also had a big birthday this year. Brent turned the big 3-0! My family came over and we all had cake and icecream. I think he got a little spoiled this year with all of the presents. It is a big birthday though. I will be there in two years ( or a year and a half: )

These pictures are all out of order and it is pretty hard to try to move them around.
