We had a wonderful Christmas here at the Dill household....last year was Hattie's first Christmas and this year was Hollyn's first Christmas ( no, there won't be a dill baby first Christmas next year: ) - we are stopping that tradition!) It was great getting to be with family. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day out at my parents with my sisters and their families. Then my brother and four out of his five kids drove down from South Dakota the day after Christmas. Greg's wife Lisa couldn't make the trip because of work. It has been so much fun having all my nieces and nephews around. I still can't believe the four oldest kids our juniors and seniors in High School!
This was the first year that Brent and I haven't been with his family on Christmas or New Year's since I have been with him over the seven years. They sent two big boxes for us to open on Christmas! Hopefully next Christmas we will get to be together.
Hattie was at such a fun age this Christmas. She loved playing with all her new toys. She really didn't care about opening the presents, she just wanted to play with the toys. She is talking so much now. It is crazy that she can communicate with us what she whats...and what she doesn't want! The other night I was rocking Hollyn and Hattie came in and said "I love you Mama" and " I love you, baby" and then she saw the owl on the night stand and said " I love you, owl!" She is hilarious. Tonight we had my family over for quesadillas and Hattie had her 3rd big accident in her 20 month life...this time she tripped and hit her rocking chair. She has a really big, bruised black eye. It is awful, but like always, it could be alot worse. Why do I have a feeling we are going to have lots of accidents with this wild child!!
Hollyn got lots of Christmas presents, although she had no idea what was going on. Hattie kept holding up her presents and saying "look baby". It is crazy to think that next year she will be running around opening presents and playing with her sisters and cousins. Hollyn started sleeping in her own room this week. She gets up once or twice a night, so we are starting to get more sleep! She is still the sweetest baby ever. We rarely hear her cry. I am definetly loving being more relaxed with baby number two! It is great!
We have been enjoying our vacation. We have been sleeping in ( til 7! ) and then waking up and watching cartoons in our bed with the girls and relaxing during the day. I am really dreading Monday because I will have to take Hollyn to daycare and my parents are going back to South Dakota! But we still have a few days off...so I better enjoy them!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Happy New Year!
Hattie got a neat doll house from Grandma and Grandpa
Grandma Lois sent the girls these cute hats and gloves
Christmas morning
Great Papa Cliff made Hattie and Hollyn these adorable baby doll cradles. Plus they have a blanket that matches their quilts. What a special gift.
