Hattie Reading!
Hattie LOVES books, just about as much as she loves babies! She loves to take all the books off her bookshelf and bring them over to us to read.
Here is the video I tried uploading yesterday....

Back to School We Go!
I am sorry for not updating. I was without a camera for a couple of weeks. Which, for me, is FOREVER! I am always taking pictures. I ended up having to get a new camera. Good thing my old one was under warranty. I definetly need that!
Brent and I survived our first week of school. It seemed like a long week for both of us. We would both come home exhausted. I think it might take a couple of weeks to get back into the routines. It is so different being pregnant this time around. When I was pregnant with Hattie, I would come home from work and not do a single thing. Now I come home and chase a one year old! And she is always on the go!!
Hattie did great going back to daycare full time. When I go to pick her up, she usually wants to stay and keep playing with her friends. We are so thankful for Alicia. We know she takes great care of Hattie and we are happy to know that Hattie has another person in her life who loves her. It makes it so much easier to leave her in the mornings knowing she is going to have a fun day playing with other kids her age and Alicia.
This weekend we got to rest. I went to my friend's baby shower on Saturday and then Marina came over to hang out with us for a bit. The girls went swimming and played in the splash park. Those two are becoming quite the friends. Sara and I keep picturing ourselves with these 4 little girls. It sure will be fun! I have a feeling September and October will go by so fast. We already have our calendar filled up for most of the weekends. My mom will be here in 10 days! YAY! And more exciting news...they are closing on their house tomorrow! We are all so excited to have grandma and grandpa living close to us!

Summer is Over, Projects Completed...Mostly : )
Tomorrow Brent and I go back to school, this week it is teacher's meetings and next week the kids will be there. I know I always say this...but this summer went SO fast! We really enjoyed being home together. We spent lots of time at the pool and checking away at our home projects list. We did pretty good. We had a good garage sale a few weeks ago and that really got us motivated to clean, organize and re-do some of the rooms in the house. We also organized our garage and Brent re-did the playground in the backyard by getting rid of the old mulch and weeds and putting in new rubber mulch. Thankfully my dad was here for two weeks and he helped us with these projects. Kim painted the nursery but I was actually a big help this time. I think she would agree with me saying that I totally redeemed myself from the little flower I did in Hattie's nursery. This time I was set on painting so Kim wouldn't have to do it all. I painted some of the flowers and turtles. Of course it was nice to have Kim there whenver I made mistakes. : )We moved the office to the downstairs front room and turned that into more of a functional space. Before we had a poker table and two leather chairs in that room and we very seldom used it. Now I love that room and am so excited to have that as our family is expanding. I found a sleeper sofa and loveseat on Craigslist so that we can have a place for guests to stay when they visit. The old office is turned into a playroom. My dad painted it pink and my friend, Ruth Ann and I pained all the white and brown polka dots.
It feels so good starting a new school year having completed so much of our summer to-do list! We figure once school starts we will be pretty busy and November will be here before we know it and then we will really be busy!!
These pictures are from Brent's phone...not the best. My camera is at Best Buy being fixed. I know, I have the hardest time with my cameras...ugh!!
I LOVE how the nursery turned out! The colors are so different from Hattie's room yet they are both similar being outdoor themes!

Papa Visits and Braedon Turns 6!!
My dad flew into Texas last week for his two week visit! It was an exciting trip for him because he would get to meet his newest grandaughter for the first time and also get to go to Braedon's 6th birthday party. Hattie was so excited to see " Papa". She definetly remembered him and it only took about 1 minute for her to warm up to him. Papa could not leave her sight for more than a minute and she would start saying "Papa, Papa".
It has been so nice having my dad here. He has been helping Brent and I finish a few projects in the yard and house. He has also made two "Craigslist Runs" with us to pick up a dresser for the baby room and get a sleeper sofa for our front room. We are making a few little changes around the house, which is always fun. We only have one more week off to get these projects done and then we will be back to school. I am already dreading leaving Hattie. We have all gotten used to being home together and we love it! But hopefully it won't take long to get back into a new routine. Plus Hattie loves daycare. We have been taking her one or two days a week. WHen we pull up to Alicia's house she gets really excited. She even tries saying "Licia"...it is so cute. SHe can say "Sara", "Kimmy", "Braedon" and "Mina". She tries to repeat whatever Brent and I say. Two days ago we were shopping and Brent saw one of his students and said " Hi James" and then Hattie said " Hi James". The student turned around and started laughing. But her favorite word is "baby", everytime we get in the car she says "baby", because she wants to go visit her cousin Layla. She loves to help with Layla ( although she really isn't much of a help). She gets blankets, tries to feed her, push her in her swing and hug and kiss her ALOT! Poor Layla must think...who is this kid? But she is just such a content little baby and lets Hattie get all over her. I am getting so excited to think about Hattie and her own little sister. I think she is going to be such a good big sister....atleast I am hoping for that!!
Well it is really hot here in Texas. It was 106 today. Of course our ac unit decided to go out this week. UGH! Luckily we got it fixed right away. I am getting ready for Fall and cooler weather!
