What did we do this week???
Okay...so this is crazy...I don't have any pictures to share this week!! This is the first weekend that I didn't take any pictures. Maybe it was because we didnt really do much this weekend. We spent the weekend watching movies, going to the beach, playing 20 questions ( this game that we got the Marshes hooked on), and cleaning. I have a little cold, so it was kinda nice to just rest these days. We will be doing more the next few weekends. Next weekend we are either going camping or hiking in the rainforest, and the next weekend Jodi will be here!! I am so excited!! It is so nice to have visitors. Brent's parents will be here in April and my friend, Sheila is coming in May. We are planning on going back to the states in June and July. I know these next few months will just fly by. Have a good week. Next week there will be pictures...I promise!!!

President's Day Weekend!!
It was so nice to spend a Monday at the beach instead of in school!! We love 3 day weekends! Brent and I celebrated our first Valentine's day as a married couple on Wednesday. I woke up on Wed. morning to a clean house and a table of gifts that he wrapped. We went to a restaurant on the ocean for pina coladas and appetizers, then Brent made me my favorite meal for dinner. It was a good day. I am so lucky to have such a good husband!! School was interesting that day as well. We walked outside in the morning to greet our students and saw them carrying flowers, balloons, big stuffed animals, etc. We recieved so many gifts from them. We have chocolate to last a year!
On Thursday Courtney's cousin, Curtis, came to visit. He is studying zoology in Kansas. He was interested in seeing the many animals in PR. On Friday we took him to this spot where we heard you can see manatees. It was nice, but we didn't see any manatees. We then drove to Guavate to meet our friends from Chicago. Guavate is know for its lechon, roasted pig, so we had a nice meal. It was also nice to see the group again before they headed back to Chicago.

Hello Manatees???

The Girls

The Guys
On Saturday Brent and I had Casa Benny to ourselves. Marshes took Curtis up to Rincon to see the whales. They ended up seeing some, so that was good!! Brent and I went to Jobos bay to see if we could find any manatees...nope, but we did see some star fish!! We also went to a parade and festival in Arroyo, a town a few miles away. There were so many people there! It was really neat!

Today we went with the Marhes and took all the dogs to the beach! The dogs absolutely love the beach. They get to run around and play with eachother. All the dogs went swimming today. Winston and Benny are the real beach dogs. Lola and Miller don't really like the water that much. We also found 25 sand dollars. While we were sitting on the beach, a big iguana smacked Miller on the face with his tail. Curtis went and grabbed a towel and held the iguana. That is the first iguana I've seen here!!

Boys Fished...Girls Shopped!!
Benny and Lola had a fun week of chewing up all my cute shoes, forcing Kelly and I to go shopping for some new shoes! We went to every single store in the mall searching for some brown shoes. We found this store that had shoes for $5.00!! We were so excited. We had a girl day, and went shopping, watched Pretty Woman, and gave ourselves pedicures!! Meanwhile the boys spent their "boy day" at the ocean fishing. Unfortunetly they didn't catch any fish. They did, however, meet the cutest stray dog. They came home and then we all went back down to Brandemar, one of our regular bars/restaurant. We took dog food to this dog "Sally/Carla/Carley/Casey" ( we couldn't agree on her name!!) and we ended up seeing 5 little puppies. Seeing these stray dogs is one of the worst parts about PR. We were hanging out in the bar and we met this big group of people from Chicago ( most of them were born in PR, but moved to the states). They were the funnest people. We had such a good time talking with them until 1:00 in the morning. We decided we will meet up with them again on Friday.
Happy Valentine's Day!!

Festival Time!
We are getting ready to watch the SuperBowl tonight! We are making lots of food and plan to watch the game with our friends! Go Colts!!
Yesterday there was a big festival in Caomo, a town about 30 miles from our house. All the teachers told us how fun the festival was. We decided to go. Kelly and I were like little kids when we saw that they had rides and games! We even rode the tilt a whirl! It was a fun time. Courtney and Brent took breathalizers on this machine that detects blood alchohol levels, we had never seen those before. There was lots of food, vendors, and a concert. The traffic was crazy though, it reminded us of the Sturgis Rally, but not near as bad!!
This morning we went to the Guayama baseball game...the regular season starts in a few weeks! The P.E. teacher plays, so of course we go to cheer him on!!
Have a great week!

I thought it was funny that the guys were holding our purses!!
