Loving the Weekends!

I love lazy weekends where we can just stay at home and spend time together. That is what we have done the last two weekends! Plus we have all been sick ( nothing too bad) so it has been good to stay at home and rest.
Here are some pictures from the last week of so...

With a toddler and a newborn there is never a dull moment in this house!!

we tried putting them in the bath together ...and it was a success!!

Snow in Texas!

Last weekend we had snow! It is definetly my kind of snow...it was only a couple of inches and stayed on the ground for a few days. After spending twenty some years in the cold weather...I am happy not to have such extreme winters. The only thing I miss....Snow Days!! But who knows, the two years that we have been here we have had a snow day each year. Hattie thought the snow was pretty neat. She would stand by the door and say "snow" so I would let her go grab a handful and then it would melt so she would ask for "more snow"....she did this for about 15 to 20 minutes.

On the 12th Hollyn turned 2 months and Hattie 21 months!

Hollyn wasn't able to get her shots yesterday because she has caught the cold that ALL of us had. They tested her for RSV and , thankfully, it was negative. It is just a common cold that should go away soon...but it is still hard to hear my 2 month old coughing..UGH!

Hattie is constantly making us laugh ( besides when she is throwing a two year old tantrum: )
Today she told me her butt hurt and I asked if she wanted butt cream. She said no and then looked at Brent and said " Daddy, I want icecream!" : )

This weekend we got to see our cousin Jeff who is in Texas checking out grad schools. He came down from cold Minnesota! It was fun to see him, since last time he was here was two years ago, and that was when we didn't have any kids and now we have two!!We have pictures on his camera, so I will probably get them soon.
Saturday night I stayed over at Sara's till 11:30 ( that is very late for us old mamas). We had a blast . We listened to our old favorite songs, danced, and LAUGHED!

Hattie kept holding up the phone to Hollyn telling her " say hi gaga" say hi papa"

Hattie singing her famous song...she sings this song probably 5 times a day. It is to the melody of twinkle twinkle little star...but her version goes something like " Mama, dad, baby, nana, papa, gaga, papa....etc.

she is such a smiler...I LOVE it!!

the secretary at my school gave Hollyn this cute hat

Hollyn NEVER gets any time alone with this big sister

Benny and Hattie loved the snow

Daddy and Hollyn stayed inside...so did Lola : )

Here We Go Again...

Brent and I went back to school on Monday. That means we now have two girls to get ready in the morning for daycare. It is definetly crazy between 6 and 7 in the morning! Hattie seemed to like having Hollyn go with her to Alicia's. Alicia said Hollyn was so good all week. She said Hollyn is pretty content hanging out in her swing or chair watching the 3 toddlers. I love not having to worry about my babies being taken care of during the day. I still miss them horribly, but school keeps me so busy and before I know it I am picking them up to go home.

My parents made it back to South Dakota and I think Hattie is already noticing they aren't here Everytime she hears the door open she will say "Papa"? and then she says " Where Papa Go?". Hopefully they will get back here soon! We already miss them. After seeing them atleast a couple times a week over two months makes it really hard for them to be gone. My mom is in Florida now getting ready to run a MARATHON with her friend at Disneyworld. My mom is so amazing that at age 62 she can run that far. We are so proud of her and can't wait to hear all about it!

Funny happening from the week:

Hattie has been putting things in her clothes/pajamas lately. One night she was wearing the footed sleepers and Brent noticed she was walking weird. She had put 3 D batteries, 1 AA battery, and her shot from her dr. set in her pajamas. No wonder the kid couldn't walk. She also put a remote to our digital picture frame in her outfit before daycare one morning and Alicia ended up finding it! Silly girl!

The other day I was changing Hollyn's diaper when I noticed she was wearing a size 5 diaper ( one of Hattie's). Apparently Brent didn't even realize that he did that! Such a guy thing!!

Hattie "reading" to her little sister

she loves to have Hollyn stand on top of her

On New Year's Eve we had Sara's 30th birthday party. It was a blast!!

Happy Birthday Sara!!I am so lucky to have you as my sister and best friend! Love you!

Alyssa and Hollyn

Hattie pretty much refused to take pictures this night. We had to trick her by having my dad hold her and everyone else get around her. Seriously...we were so proud of ourselves for tricking the 20 month old!!
Grandma and Grandpa with 9 out of the 10 grandkids...James stayed in SD looking for a job
( notice Hattie's black eye...it is kinda hard to see, but it was pretty bad)
