Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!!

We rang in the New Year last night with all four of us at home. It was great! Hattie made it till 11 so we watched the ball drop in New York. She thought it was so fun having fake champagne and poppers when the ball dropped! We have lots of good memories from 2012: Hattie turned 3, we took a three week road trip through the Midwest over the summer and got to see LOTS of friends and family, took a vacation to Galveston where we loved seeing the ocean, Grandma Lois turned 100, and Hollyn turned 2! Of course 2012 brought us sad times as well. But we feel blessed with what the year 2012 was and now have the excitement of what a new year will bring!

Christmas with a two and three year old was so much fun!! The girls just soaked up everything we did and it was fun to see the exciment  in their eyes. Brent and I both have a couple of weeks off of school so we are enjoying all this time together. We didn't go anywhere far this year. We spent Christmas with my sisters and parents. Like Hattie said " It was the Best Christmas ever!!"

Here is how we spent December:

Papa and I watched Hattie's Christmas performance at school.
Counting down the days with our advent calendar. Sara and I did that as kids and we loved it, except my parents only got us one calendar to share so we had to take turns getting the candy every other day.

Our elf, Snowflake, always found good spots!
We watched the Sachse Christmas Parade...such a good parade for our small suburb. The whole time kids were yelling " Mr. Dill or "Senior Dill" so many of his current students and old students were in the parade and the would all run up to him and give the girls so much candy.
We also took Hattie to the Sachse High School Play " White Christmas". One of Brent's former students/ our babysitter had the main role and it was neat to watch her.Hattie was perfect through the entire 2.5 hr play!
One of the five times seeing Santa! I swear Santa is everywhere down here! Hattie asked me why Mrs. Claus had white hair the first time we saw her and brown hair the second time we saw her...good question?? : )
This was at the Sachse High School, where the football players did a fundraiser' Pancakes with Santa. They also had a carnival afterwards.
 Hattie wrote Santa a list!

Falling asleep under the Christmas tree is always fun!
My two team teachers that I work with at dinner for our Christmas Party!
We always have alot of fun!! Johnny is leaving us to go to Vietnam so we will have a new team teacher starting January.
The girls before church on Christmas Eve
We went out to eat after church with Gaga and Papa
making Christmas trees with icecream cones and frosting..yummy!!

 ready for Santa

Christmas morning at our house! Santa brought Hattie a tea cart and Hollyn new blocks

my sisters and momma
 opening presents

 cousins
the little girls got American Girl dolls and matching outfits
 best present...SNOW!!
The day after Christmas we had lots of snow
I am not sure where she learned this..but as soon as she walked outside she fell to the groud and said " Snow Angel"
Brent and I went to a Mavs/Nuggets Game a few nights ago! Nuggets won!! Woohoo!
Hollyn after her two year check-up..she held on to that dr. stick for a couple of hours!!
