Fun with Grandma!

My mom left today after being here for about 10 days. It wasn't as hard saying good-bye this time, because I know she will be back down here in November right before the baby is born. Her and my dad will actually be down here for quite a bit of the winter! YAY! Their new house is coming along. My mom got lots done while she was here. New furniture, setting up utilities, lawn care, decorating and cleaning! We love theirnew house. And the best part is that it is close to all of us girls!
On Friday night we went over to mom and dad's new house for dinner. The kids had a blast running around playing hide-n-sick ( that's what Marina calls it), the new dinner table hadn't been delivered so we ate on the floor! Mom spent the night over at our house on Friday and we got carried away talking and realized it was already midnight. The next morning mom and I went shopping to some of our favorite stores and ate lunch at Fish City. Saturday night we all went to the Plano Balloon Festival. It was really neat and I think the kids enjoyed it. It was so packed though. It was hard to even walk through the crowd. Sara and I were getting a little clasterphobic with all the people!
This morning our church had a tail gate party after the service. We dressed Hattie in her Vikings cheerleader outfit. It was lots of fun, even though we aren't big Cowboy fans! Oh speaking of that....Emmitt Smith was at my dr.'s office last time I was there. His wife is pregnant and will be having their baby at the same hospital as us! SOme of the ladies in the office said that he goes to their child birthing classes. When I told Brent that he said that we should have not opted out of them this time. Oh well!!

Happy Grandparents Day!

Hattie is loving having Grandma Jean here over the last few days. The other day Hattie and Marina were upstairs playing in the playroom and Marina kept yelling " grandma" and then we hears Hattie yell " Gramma"! It was really cute. I keep thinking how nice it will be to have my mom and dad down here living close to us. Their new house is so nice. My mom has been having lots of fun shopping for her new house. Her and Kim went furniture shopping on Saturday and then mom and I went dishing/ accessory shopping yesterday! Sorry dad...what do you expect when you send her down here by herself!!
Yesterday was Grandparents Day and today was my mom's birthday, so it was extra fun having her here! Hattie misses her other grandparents though. Everytime she plays with her fake phone she is pretend talking to "Papa" and for grandparents day Hattie sent Nana and Papa Dill a card with a Texas realtor add ( we are working on getting them to have a house down here too....that would be AWESOME!) Hattie is also very lucky to have her great- grandparetns, Cliff and Sarah; great-grandma Lois ( who just turned 98) and her great-grandma Gloria! We only wish we could live closer to all the grandparents. We love all you grandparents very much!

And in baby news....we finally decided on a name............
HOLLYN CATHERINE- my mom thought of Hollyn and we are using Catherine for Brent's mom. She can go by Hollyn Cathy or Hollyn Cate. We love it! Thanks also to my niece, Alyssa, for coming up with the spelling. We were going to spell in Hollin, but changed it to Hollyn! We also set the date for the c-section...November 12th! Gosh that was weird picking a date for delivery. But, trust me, I am not complaining! After waiting past my due date with Hattie I am fine having a scheduled c-section. Plus, who knows maybe she will come before that. So there it is... now we will just get to look forward to seeing what she looks like and her size/weight. Everyone knows how bad I am with surprises!!
Well it is crazy that September is almost half over. We were busy this weekend with my friend, Angela's b-day party, a garage sale ( yes another one...this time at Sara's), and church greeters. This next weekend we are going to a hot air balloon festival with my mom. YAY!
Here are some pictures of Hattie, our 17 MONTH OLD! I think you can tell by the pictures that we have a crazy little girl on our hands. She is HILARIOUS! Grandma Jean has been pretty entertained! She continues to be a little jabberbox learning new words all the time. At the garage sale she started saying " money" and would grab quarters and say "mine". Also, the other day I was painting her toe nails and I was blowing on them to dry and she looked at me and said "hot"...ahh cute!! Cute, she is most of the time. She is getting pretty good at throwing fits too. The other day she got mad when we took her out of the toy aisle at target. Oh my she threw her head back and screamed! I guess we are at that age! It is so much fun though!

Labor Day Weekend!

It was nice to have a 3 day weekend so early in the school year! Brent, Hattie and I are all doing good getting back to the routines. Most days when I go to pick up Hattie I ask her if she is ready to go and she says "no"! Atleast she enjoys daycare! Brent and I are really enjoying getting to know our new students. We both have new co-teachers this year too. I have been used to teaching every subject over the last 5 years and now this year I am co-teaching with a new teacher, Mr. Perez. It is SO nice! Plus we each only have 13 students. I teach English Language Arts/Reading, he teaches Math, and we both do Science and Social Studies. We get along really well and I think we will have a great year!
On Friday night Brent went out of town on a fishing trip with some of our neighbor guys. One of them has a little house on the lake that they stayed at. Hattie and I were over at Sara's that night and decided to spend the night there since Hattie and Marina were having so much fun playing. We put the pack n play up for Hattie and she slept great. Sara and I stayed up late ( late for us 12:30) talking and apparently I woke up several times imagining I was hearing Hattie. We will get to the pregnancy brain stories in a bit....
Sunday we went to Kim's for her Labor Day Party. When we pulled up to Kim's house, Hattie starting going crazy with excitment. She definelty knows her Aunties' Houses! Right when we walked into Kim's she said " turtles" and "toys". She loves Braedon's toy room and it only takes her about 10 minutes to completely destroy it! Auntie Kim says she likes when the girls play with all the toys and make a mess, and she usually gets stuck cleaning it all up! Greg made a great meal and it was fun hanging out with all their neighbors. There were lots of little girls for Hattie to play with.
The rest of the weekend was spent at church, cleaning, yard wark, walks, and baby shopping!

I better get to sleep. It is almost 11 o'clock and we have a busy week. Grandma Jean will be here Thursday. We plan on going to see their new house and watching the Viking game right when she gets here!

Oh yah....pregnancy brain? I really hope that is true that you lose your brain while pregnant, if not, I am in trouble. Here are a few of the silly things I have done the last few days.
Yesterday I couldn't find my camera. I was blaming Sara for taking it out at her house and leaving it there. She said it wasn't there. Brent stepped in and said " Didn't you just use your camera to take a picture of Hattie in the car a few minutes ago?" Whoops!
I was making brownies from a mix.I put the pan in the oven and looked over on the counter and saw a had poured the oil in the measuring cup, but didn't poor it in the batter. UGH!!
At school the other day I went to pick up my class from PE 15 mins early. I asked the PE teacher to blow the whistle so the kids could line up. He said "really?", but did it. I got up stairs and Scott said we were a little ahead of schedule since we took the kids out early. Oh my gosh...why didn't either of them say something to me?!?! Haha!!
That's all for now. I think?!! : )
Have a good week!
Adorable niece, Layla. She is only 3 and a half months and already started rolling over and scooting. Such a sweet baby!
Sara and her girls

Hattie had to get in the baby chair

Sara and I were sorting through all of Hattie's clothes from last fall/winter. Layla will be able to fit in most of them! As you can tell, Hattie and Marina were a huge help : )

Hattie climbing on her Auntie

The first thing Hattie does when she gets in the car is say "book". She spends the entire ride home "reading" to her little baby!

rough housing with Auntie Kimmie! This girl is such a wild kids. She jumps onto everything. She was running in front of Kim's house, fell and skid her knee, and got right back up. Kim said to me " Shouldn't she be crying?" Haha she is such a tough little girl!

Maybe the baby mattress won't make it up to the nursery
