Fun-filled Weekend! We started off our weekend by going to the circus on Friday night. Hattie and I went with Sara, Marina, Mary and Reagan. The girls had a blast! I was a little worried about Hattie sitting for so long but she did great. She was terrified of the clown though ( but c'mon who can blame her). She was also afraid of the little boy sitting behind us who had his face painted like a lion. Her favorites were all the animals. We ended up leaving half way through the show at 9:30! Hattie stayed up so late that night..but it was worth it! Saturday we went out to my parents for our pancake breakfast! Marina and Hattie wore Papa and Gaga out! They played outside in their box playhouse, wrote with chalk and had papa push them around the house in the chair. I always laugh at my dad about how much he spoils the grandkids. He will tell the girls that he needs to sit down and rest and they say "please Papa" and he gets up again: ) No wonder they are exhausted when we leave. Later that night we went over to Kim's for her "non-birthday/ birthday party : ) It was fun as always! Hollyn refused to go to sleep the entire time over there. She finally fell asleep around 8:30 or 9! Our church moved to a new building so that has been pretty exciting ( we were in a school for the last year). Hattie was a little confused, but was happy to see her friends. She loves the church nursery. She always sings songs once we pick her up! They always tell us what a good girl she was during the hour and a half! 10 weeks of school left! YAY! We are getting ready for summer break! I didn't get many pictures at the circus because I brought my camera without the memory card
snuggling with Auntie Sara " Keep those clowns away!"
The playhouse. It was so funny because my dad finished making the play house and Marina said they were missing one thing....a ceiling fan!
SO CUTE!

they must have done this for 30 minutes

Hollyn always smiles big for auntie

Spring Break!

We couldn't have had a better Spring Break this year! It was really nice to have a week off school and get to spend time with family. We went on our first family vacation to San Antonio and then had Hattie's 2nd birthday party! Lots of fun!
Brent's parents flew to Texas last week. Hattie went to the airport to pick them up. It didn't take her long to warm up to Nana and Papa. After about 5 minutes at home she was saying " c'mom Papa" and they were busy playing.
We really appreciated Rick and Cathy planning a little trip to San Antonio. The car ride took about 6 hours ,but both girls did really well riding in the car. It didn't seem long at all. We took several breaks which helped. The first night in San Antonio we went to see The Alamo and the River Walk. Wow, it is so pretty! We ate at a mexican restuarant right on the river. Hollyn had a huge fit when I tried to give her a bottle made with cold water...she screamed while we were walking on the river walk. Everyone was looking at us and we decided to book it back to the hotel. She stopped as soon as we got to the hotel. Go figure!
Later that night Nana and Papa watched the girsl so Brent and I could get out for a little alone time. Our hotel was right on the river walk, so we were able to walk down there again and see it all lit up at night. We ran in to a couple from church that we knew!
The next day we went to Sea World! I went when I was a little kid, but don't remember much. All I know is I was obsessed with Shamu! I was really excited to go again and see what Hattie would think of it. The day started off with Hattie throwing a fit during the Shamu show. SHe did fine waiting the 30 minutes for it to start, but as soon as it started she wanted out of there. I am glad she got over it pretty quick ( after her and daddy fed the flamingos while we watched the show) because there was so much to do there. We enjoyed seeing the aquarium with sharks, dolphins and fish; watching shows; playing in the kiddie area where we watched the sesame street characaters and let Hattie play games and go on rides; and playing in the water park. As soon as we got back to the hotel the girls took really long naps!
That night we tried to go to the Rainforest Cafe, but after 2 plus hours of waiting, we decided to go back to the room and order in food.
We got back home on Thursday. Just in time to get ready for Hattie's birthday party on Friday. Hattie's birthday isn't until April 12th, but we wanted both sets of grandparents to be here, so we decided to have it early. We had a beautiful night it was, where we could hang outside and let the kids play. It turned out really nice. Thanks to my friend, Ruth Ann, for taking pictures that night!
