A Little Project!!

I love having a crafty sister!! As soon as I mention an idea to her she is "all over it". Since we haven't had a baby nursery to paint for a little over a year ( we were doing one almost every year!) I found a little project to satisfy our crafty desires. I guess I got the idea from my fabulous mother-in-law when she made Hattie a castle closet in their house. Hattie loved it! After Christmas I decided to re-do the playroom to try to make room for all their news toys ( and get rid of some of the old ones). I realized that closet in there would make a really fun little fort for the girls. So I moved all of Brent's books and cd's to another location. Brent tells me that I keep taking over his spaces little by little, started with the game room that turned into a living space, the office that turned into a playroom, and now his closet!! Hey...what do you expect when you live with all girls??
Anyways Kim, Greg ( my handy brother-in-law) and I spent a few hours last Sunday making the house. It turned out so much cuter than what I was envisioning. Hattie absolutely loves it! She tries to keep Hollyn out, but Hollyn is sneaky and can still get in.

Below are some pictures of our project!!

Hattie decided to paint over the little bulletin boards I made...I left them upstairs to dry when Hattie woke up she went in and painted over them and came down to tell me " look mom, how wonderful!"
I just wish they had a few toys to play with : )

Trip to the Dallas Zoo!
We had to get out and enjoy this wonderful weather, so we thought a trip to the zoo would be a fun family outing - plus for all four of us it only cost $10!! We were there pretty early so it was a little cool, but then it got to be a really nice day. We knew our little animal lover, Hollyn, would enjoy seeing animals and going to the childrens petting zoo. We all had so much fun!

Hollyn was laughing the entire time
come here you bird

Hattie and Daddy going to cheer on the middle school basketball team. The coach even got Hattie a Hudson shirt for Christmas! She loves going to the volleyball, football and basketball games.
Hollyn's favorite food is spaghetti
Uhmmm sippy or bottle
YAY!! Too bad she doesn't do that ever. This girl loves her bottle. We aren't looking forward to taking that away...

ready for church
Thanks Jodi for the cute dolls!! Hattie opened it and said " Thank you so much Jodi, it's wondeful!"
CUTIES!! The other day Hollyn was supposed to be taking a nap and I heard her crying and I heard Hattie in there...I went in and asked Hattie if she woke up her sister and she told me " No, I just was asking her what was wrong!" Guilty!!

Christmas 2011
We had such a fun 10 day get away to South Dakota and Colorado to spend Christmas with family! We flew in to South Dakota two weeks ago and it was crazy stepping off the plane to 60 degree weather!! The girls did really good on the flight. When we were boarding the plane I could just see all the people looking at us probably thinking- please, please don't sit by us!! : ) Hollyn slept for about half of the ride and the other half seemed liked it lasted forever as it was hard keeping a very active one year old entertained on my lap. But they did great! The plane was so small that Brent had to sit on the one seat side while I sat on the double seat side with both girls. I looked over at him while he was reading a book leisurely while I was trying to entertain the girls- it wasn't really his fault because the flight attendant said the single passenger side couldn't have infants ride with them! Lucky guy!!
The weather in South Dakota was fantastic- we could enjoy things outdoors and we even got a few inches of snow one day which made Hattie very happy!!
We drove the normally 5 hour trip ( 7 hours with kids and somewhat snowy roads) to Colorado to stay with Tracy and Jaron. We were really excited to get to spend Christmas with Great Papa Cliff, who looks amazing after suffering a very serious heart attack back in April. Brent got to go hunting with his dad and grandpa one day and that was pretty neat! We spent Christmas Day at cousin Amy's house up in the beautiful mountains. Hattie and Hollyn got to meet lots of new people that day!
After spending 4 days in CO we made the trip back to South Dakota- this time Jaron and Tracy went with us which was nice because not all 6 of us had to ride in one car.
Our flight home was just as good as the way up. A little extra luggage ( we took an extra bag full of presents back home). I am very thankful for our awesome little travelers!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Lots of pictures in this post : )
Hattie loved her cool suitcase that she could ride on
