Fun in the Blue Bonnets! My mom and I took Hattie and Hollyn to a field of blue bonnets near our house and got some pretty pictures of the girls in their matching dresses and hats. Blue Bonnets are the Texas state flower and they are so pretty when they bloom in the spring. My mom stayed with me and the girls most of the weekend because Brent made a quick trip up to Colorado to be with his family. His grandpa, Cliff, suffered a heart attack on Thursday. His condition was pretty bad by Friday so Brent knew it was important to fly up there to be with family. Since Thursday Cliff has been making improvements. We will continue to pray that he will keep making improvements and will be able to get out of the hospital. Brent's grandpa is the nicest guy ever! Everybody who knows him says that. He turned 80 in July and he is always very active going fishing and hunting all the time. Brent has never been away from his girls at all except the 2 days when Hattie and I went to Sheila's wedding last May. We really missed him. Hattie kept asking where daddy was. We told her that he was in an airplane. So today she was watching outside and saw and airplane and said " Daddy Airplane". Her and Hollyn were very excited to see daddy today. My mom and my friend Ruth Ann took turns staying over with me and the girls. It was really nice to have someone else around...its hard taking care of a toddler and baby all alone! I can't imagine being a single parent! Here are the girls enjoying the beautiful evening in the flowers! While my mom and I were taking the pictures we kept saying we weren't getting any good shots. Once we looked through the pictures at home we realized we had several good shots. I am happy how the pictures turned out! They are so cute!
love Hattie's expression
