I am sure Sheila can agree when I say that her week vacation here was very crazy!! Our week was consumed by suffering through sunburns and getting rained on by the unusual thunderstorms. Despite the many mishaps, we managed to have a great time!!
Sheila tried many new foods including conch, land crab, mofongo, plantains, etc. She also got to practice using that spanish she learned in high school!!
On Monday we went to a little island, caja de muerto ( coffin island) the water is very clear. We spent the day swimming and snorkeling. This is the place we got burnt. We put spf 50 sunblock on and it was even a little cloudy. The next morning we woke up in pain. My lips had blisters on them and Sheila's back, chest, legs, arms were burnt! Not Fun!! We had to change plans around because of our sunburns. THat meant that we had to do a little more shopping than planned ( I know that is sad isn't it?) We went to Ponce, Old San Juan, and the rainforest. While hiking through the rainforest, a big storm came through. We got drenched and were not able to get in the big waterfall. The worst part about the storm was that our night kayaking trip got cancelled! We figured that was our sign that we would have been eaten by alligators (even though there arent alligators there). Since we didnt get to go kayaking our biggest adventure of the trip was probably trying to sit together in a hammock!! Maybe it was a good thing our kayak trip was canceled.
Brent, Lola, Benny, and I are leaving Tuesday for our 6 week summer break! We are so excited to see many friends and family. We will be in Colorado, Texas, and South Dakota! We hope to see many of you! We will probably continue the blog throughout the summer and definetly next year. Our first year in Puerto Rico was amazing and we are looking forward to next year! Thanks for reading! See you soon!

It was so much fun down there (minus the sun burn - which is still terrible!!!) you have no idea how many times "Que Puerto Rican" pops into my head now! Can't wait to see you in a week!!! Hopefully I won't be quite so red!
